Over the course of the past two decades, I have found myself drawn in what seemed like two opposite directions: research + capturing the beauty around me through photography. I seemed to always have two things in hand: a book and my camera.

After finishing my PhD in English (Language), where I focused on the linguistics of emotion in social media and translations, I found myself drawn away from the walls of academia. Now, in my social media and photography, I'm able to apply what I've learned to capture the beauty around me -- not so much in words, besides the caption for a text, but through images.

My shooting style
One time I asked my clients to sum up my photography style, and they said: colourful, soft, and kind.
I think they nailed it.

In a documentary-style way, I seek out natural and authentic moments where you are at play. I know that it can feel a little awkward with my camera pointing at you, so I will give you some direction and prompts. Think tickles, snuggles, big bear hugs and games! These will help you forget the camera, tune into the present moment, and focus on each other.
Of course, if you want posed images, I can add some of those to the mix, too. Sometimes you just need those formal-type photos for those holiday cards!
